We live by faith every day - more than we realize!
Think about it! We watch the sun go down, and don't even think about wondering if it will come up in the morning.
We have faith that it will.
That type of faith is the substance of your faith. When we don't doubt - we are convinced!
Hebrews 12:1 (NET) Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see.
When we live by this Biblical thought, we strengthen our faith.
What are the things that you are holding on to by your faith?
Some of the things that we seemingly take for granted, yet have faith in every day: the chairs that we sit in, the cars that we drive (well, most of the time), the phones that we use, etc.
What are some other things that might apply for you?
I'm confident that my God is faithful to His Word (the Bible) and that He will do what He says He will do! He has never let me down.
I have let me down.
He has shown me that His ways are higher and better than my ways, and He always has a better plan.
Sometimes it's hard to believe that His plan is better, because I like to make my own plans. However, hind sight is always 20/20 and He has taught me every time that He has me on His mind.
So now I know that when things are not going according to my plan, I can trust Him and have faith in what He is doing in my life.
Just like I know that the sun is coming up tomorrow morning (when I watch it go down in the evening), I know that God has a good plan for my life.
I know this because He says so in His Word. Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know what I have planned for you, says the Lord. "I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope. When you call out to me and come to me in prayer, I will hear your prayers. When you seek me in prayer and worship, you will find me available to you. If you seek me with all your heart and soul". (NET)
He created me for a purpose and a plan and He wants me to be a part of what He is doing.
I do, too! (Want to be a part of what He is doing.)
So I seek Him in prayer, and I look to His Word for guidance. I have faith that He will take me to His good place. He has proven this to me, and so I trust Him.
Just like the sun has always come up in the morning and you don't doubt that it will again tomorrow, your faith has substance/confidence that it will.
And I have faith that my God is GOOD to me all of the time - no matter what it looks like - because He has proved Himself to me over time.
